Are you hopeful? What encourages you and brings you hope? I think if we were to take a poll of random people, we would discover that hope is in short supply. With the constant barrage of violent and gloomy news, we are all susceptible to losing hope. If we allow our minds to roam unattended, most of us end up at an unhealthy place.
What is an unattended mind you ask? An unattended mind is one that allows negative, unhealthy thoughts to grow without intentionally recognizing and changing the line of thinking. Purple cow! Did you just get a mental picture of a purple cow? You probably can’t stop picturing the cow without replacing that thought with something else. That’s exactly what we must do daily when things are not all sunshine and butterflies.
One thing you will find in constant supply at the Dream Center of Forsyth County is hope. That’s because we are always resupplying ourselves with good thoughts. Philippians 4:8 in the Passion translation says, “Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always”. Be hopeful my friends!
